1958 | The Yemeni League is established. |
1963 | Following the 1962 revolution in Yemen, The Arab Workers’ Union is established and run by Yemenis in Eccles. The union aims ‘to serve the needs of all Arabs in Greater Manchester’. |
1971 | The Yemeni Welfare Society is formed and becomes the main centre for all Yemeni communities across the UK. |
1976 | The General Federation of the Sons of Yemen is established. |
1990 | Following the reunification of North and South Yemen, The Yemeni Community Association (YCA) is established. |
2005 | The YCA is registered as an official charity. |
